A Call for Submission: Special Issue on Strengthening Ethical Oversight of Emerging Technologies

As part of its mission, irecs is collaborating with NanoEthics, a leading journal focusing on studies of new and emerging technologies, to announce a Call for Papers (CfP) for a special issue titled “Strengthening Ethical Oversight of Emerging Technologies”. This initiative seeks to explore how research ethics and integrity measures can help meet the challenges posed by new technologies and promote responsible science.



Key themes and topics


The special issue invites contributions on various topics, including but not limited to:

 

  • Ethics Training: Innovative programmes that prepare researchers to navigate ethical complexities.
  • Frameworks for Ethical Assessment: Development of tools to evaluate ethical dimensions of research.
  • Global and Cultural Ethics:  Strategies for harmonising ethical standards across borders.
  • Public Trust and Transparency: approaches to ensuring accountability and maintaining societal trust in research and development.
  • Stakeholder Inclusion: Diversity and inclusion practices within Research Ethics Committees (RECs)
  • Future Ethics Challenges: Anticipatory frameworks for emerging ethical issues.

Submissions are welcome from a wide range of disciplines, emphasising the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in addressing ethical dilemmas in science and technology.
